Players across the ECHL, which includes the Idaho Steelheads, officially went on strike Friday, and the team’s game at Utah on Friday night was the first casualty.

The players of the ECHL have initiated a midseason strike, with their union Friday accusing the league of refusing to bargain in good faith. The ECHL postponed 13 games slated for Friday as a result of the work stoppage.

The Greenville Swamp Rabbits, along with several other ECHL teams, announced that their Friday night game has been postponed because of the Professional Hockey Players Association strike. LEARN MORE:
