K-State (4-4, 3-2 Big 12) overwhelmed KU (4-4, 2-3 Big 12) in every way. Avery Johnson completed 11 of 17 passes 231 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for two scores. The K-State defense stymied Jalon Daniels and held KU to just 247 total yards. Ralph Ortiz even scored a scoop-and-score touchdown on special teams.

As Kansas lined up in a huddle at the Oklahoma State 5-yard line, redshirt senior quarterback Jalon Daniels relayed a play call that followed the same theme as the previous nine playcalls: Hand the ball off to Leshon Williams.
That does not come as a surprise. The Red Raiders have won all seven of their games by at least 24 points. Their lone loss was a back-and-forth affair at Arizona State. Kansas State has been an underdog in each of its past three games. That role seems to suit the Wildcats this season.
The Kansas Jayhawks ’ loss to Kansas State last weekend in Lawrence is one that hurt in many ways. It was a bad showing in front of a host of big-time recruits, it extended a horrendous losing streak to 17 years, and perhaps most importantly, it severely hurt the chances of KU reaching the postseason.
