Though the ABC daytime series ditched costumes again this year, it’s still celebrating spooky season with laughs
ABC News' Jonathan Karl revealed details of his phone call with President Donald Trump after his election victory last year during an appearance on "The View."
Whoopi Goldberg made a remark that was censored on live TV on Thursday's The View, and later had a bizarre outburst on the air after Entertainment Weekly reached out to a show representative for comment.
Jonathan Karl was the featured guest on Tuesday’s (October 28) edition of The View to dig into the “Hot Topics” of the day alongside cohosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin.
ABC had no comment. The network did briefly cover the news on Good Morning America in a very straightforward manner, though anchor George Stephanopoulos commented at the end of the report, “This threat from the FCC is the latest in a series of moves against the independent media from President Trump and his appointees.”
Cheryl Hines revealed some disappointment with "The View" appearance on Monday, saying hosts focused on grilling her about husband, RFK Jr., instead of discussing her new book.
The View cohosts will not wear Halloween costumes this year due to the seriousness of current news topics and the need for live shows during the election season. Instead of costumes, the show will feature festive segments, including “Hot Topics,” a kids’ costume showcase, and a topical skit.
