Hurricane Melissa is barreling into the Caribbean island of Jamaica on Tuesday, Oct. 28, with sustained winds over 180 mph, potentially more than two feet of rain and a life-threatening storm surge.

Melissa, now a Category 2 hurricane, will bring heavy rain from the Mid-Atlantic to New England as it heads toward Bermuda and Newfoundland, Canada.

Police said at least 14 people have died in Jamaica, and they expected the death toll to keep rising.
