A UPS plane has crashed near Louisville’s Muhammad Ali International Airport in a fiery wreck, officials confirmed as a plume of smoke could be seen for miles.
A MetroSafe supervisor said the call was for a "reported explosion" in the area of Fern Valley Road and Grade Lane. Louisville Metro Police said there's an active scene with "fire and debris." Spokesperson Matt Sanders said it's a reported plane crash with injuries. Sanders said there were over 20 calls for service.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Several agencies are responding to a plane crash involving a UPS cargo plane near Louisville's Muhammad Ali International Airport. UPS Flight 2976 crashed around 5:15 p.m. local time after taking off from the Louisville airport, the FAA said. The plane was headed to Honolulu.
